Travelling Abroad With a Small Dog
I’m a person who loves to travel and I love to be able to still travel even though I have a very small Yorkie Chihuahua Mix (Chorkie). When I looked into getting a dog 5 years ago I wanted to get a small lap dog that I would be able to travel with and one that allows me to be more free in doing so.
Ava has been travelling with me via airplanes since she was a few months old. Her very first trip was to see my dad and step mom in Newfoundland, Canada. We travelled from Toronto to Gander. Ava was an amazing traveler back then. Ava had to be in a carrier the whole time, being so small and young she slept the whole way.
As she got older she found it not as fun to travel via airplanes. Ava needs to have some medication that her vet gives her. Ava has been to Florida more than a few times via airplane. Ava does not mind driving long distances in a vehicle as well. She has been to Myrtle Beach from Toronto. We took a trip one time from Toronto to Florida and then onto Myrtle Beach. We have travelled back and forth from Toronto to Florida as we own a home in the sunny south.
Travelling back and forth from Canada to The United States via airplanes is easy. All she needs is proof that she is up to date with all her shots.
