International Women’s Day. What does it mean to you?
--
What is International Women’s Day? It is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. … celebrate women’s achievements. raise awareness about women’s equality. ~( copied from google)
Today, for me is a day that we can all celebrate all women and what it means to raise young girls into strong independent women. Women who can conquer all their dreams and fight through their struggle in careers that are predominantly a male driven career.
Women can break barriers and ceilings. We are seeing that more now than ever. Some careers have had to adapt and adjust to women coming into their careers.
Women are becoming mechanics, they are becoming contractors in the construction field. Women are becoming firefighters, Politicians. Women are opening their own business and running the show. and too many other careers to name.
Being an independent woman myself, I was raised that you do not need a man to do everything for you. It is a good thing if a woman knows how to change a flat tire, work on plumbing, being able to fix things around the house
I believe that women don’t need a man in their life, they should want and enjoy having a man in their life. Once young ladies figure this out, they will not be looking for men to look after them.
This is how we raise strong independent women who can do anything that they want.
I was single for 11 years before I met my current husband. I dated but i didn’t have a serious relationship with anyone at that time. That can also be a downfall. It can make it harder for the man to fit into your life and your lifestyle. It took me a very long time to let him do things for me…just because. From doing dishes, laundry, grass cutting, and everyday chores. It was hard for me to let go of the reins and be able to let him take over.
We have been married now for over 2 years and I have finally let go of that part.
I’m still a very independent woman but I have been able to adjust and maneuver in our marriage to be able to come to a place where I can still be independent and as well let him be the alpha male…
